May 04,  · On Who's Next they finally delivered a cohesive Rock Album, and this is easily as good as the Who get in the studio. The Ox is fantastic throughout, Daltry is a bit weak on a couple of tunes, but this is a classic album with great use of the synthesiser on their greatest tune "Won't Get Fooled Again"/5().

This album is probably the most popular and important record of the Who's career. The album was recorded at a time when the music recording industry was going through some of the most significant changes in history and this record was an example of what it was like for all bands to set the new standards for using the studio to create new music in a totally new way/5(K).

Much of Who's Next derives from Lifehouse, an ambitious sci-fi rock opera Pete Townshend abandoned after suffering a nervous breakdown, caused in part from working on the sequel to optofanvepetmau.ibepchipsibenreuclearlucamcopotu.co's no discernable theme behind these songs, yet this album is stronger than Tommy, falling just behind Who Sell Out as the finest record the Who ever cut. 10/
  6. Donris says:
Who’s Next started life as a Pete Townshend concept entitled Lifehouse, which contained enough songs for a double album, but the project was eventually reduced to a single optofanvepetmau.ibepchipsibenreuclearlucamcopotu.coings for the album began in New York with Kit Lambert as producer, but the band weren’t satisfied with the results and returned to London to re-record them at Olympic Studios in Barnes with Glyn Johns.

I love this album. I also owned the vinyl LP and lost it in a devastating house fire in April, I have great memories of listening to this album. I was very pleased to find it on Amazon. There are many great pieces on this album. There are no songs on it that I dont like. /5(9).

The album was developed from the aborted 'Lifehouse' project, a multi-media rock opera written by the group's guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend as a follow-up to the band's album 'Tommy'. The album includes the classic Who singles 'Won't Get Fooled Again', 'Baba O'Riley' and 'Behind Blue Eyes', and is widely regarded as the band's.
